of other courses in response to demand for training on a specific topic
or for an individual client. These courses supplement the core PPT training
system, adding an extra dimension for trainees or providing specialist
information. PPT works not only with pork production companies but also
with suppliers of feed, genetics, pharmaceuticals and other products
to the industry. Some of the courses we have produced are outlined

A fundamental review of the needs of the pig and how its environment
and people influence its well-being. An essential course for those people
starting their career working with pigs. (1 day)
Many aspects of the pork production process have a food safety component.
This course deals with the principles of food safety, correct use of

labour use and production cost. This course examines the practical application

roles within companies supplying the pork industry, this course deals
