Our experience shows
that staff motivation and commitment is improved by the recognition
of training achievements through certification, especially where trainees
have few academic qualifications.
PPT certification provides
a means of demonstrating their effort and abilities.

The Pig Skills Manuals are competence-based and can be aligned with
most industry or national competence assessment standards. Trainee progress
is monitored using the PPT
Achievement Record (example document) which forms a permanent
record of the training undertaken and competence level reached. Accomplishment
can also be recognised by awarding certificates listing the skills completed.
We often term these levels of accomplishment bronze, silver or gold,
depending on the number of skills the trainee is competent in.

The Pig Skills Manuals can be used to help demonstrate compliance with
animal welfare and food safety standards. PPT procedures follow internationally
recognised standards in these areas and can form part of a Quality Assurance
system as required by the processor or retailer.

For these modules and other classroom-based courses, PPT awards course
attendance certificates to the trainees. While these don’t demonstrate
competence, they do provide a record of any training undertaken.
